It not just German luxury brands that are targeting Tesla

It is difficult to overestimate the degree to which Tesla has changed the course of the global auto industry.

Take Volkswagen, for instance. VW brand chief Herbert Diess said last week he aims for his company to sell 1 million battery-powered vehicles by 2025, part of a strategic effort that focuses mainly on the Chinese EV market.

That’s a notable objective, but what is most interesting is that Diess mainly has his eyes on Tesla and on the potential of the upcoming Model 3.

“Anything Tesla can do, we can surpass,” Diess said.

It’s an obsession.
